God’s word is like the manna that the Israelites ate in the desert. Jesus said in John 6, I am the bread of life. In Matt 4:4 Jesus said “man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” The word of God is like food for us, not physical food, but food for our spirit and soul. You may be mad hungry right now trying to find a way to fill the void, but only God’s word can feed this kind of hunger! Where can you get this food, well the food is in the store house according to Malachi 3. That’s church. Now you can get some food on your own to, by reading the bible, fix yourself a meal, but church is where the food is stored! And if your answer is “I don’t always like church”, well then I might say that not all food tastes the same. In fact some food, like asparagus, tastes bad to me. But I know it’s good for me, so I eat it. If the goal is to grow and be healthy, then we have to eat healthy. Sometimes the food at church tastes great, and other times it may really challenge you, even disagree with your stomach a bit. So what! Now sit there at the table and clean your plate, no Krispy Kreme doughnuts for you until you eat your veggies. Church on the Ledge!

As Christians we are often referred to as the “Body of Christ.” We are the arms, hands, legs, and even the spleen. Every part is just as important as the next. Not sure what part you are? Relax; we can help you find your place. We have loads of programs that are specifically designed for each part of the body of Christ, including you. So, whether you are interested in our stellar children’s department, our award winning youth programs, or our men and women’s groups we got you covered. Or perhaps, you are interested in a more global scene. Not a problem! We have programs and events that take place all over the world! We put on concerts in India, Asia, and South America just to name a few that reach out to millions of people, we are building houses in Cambodia in order to help the people to live in sanitary conditions, and we have sent teams to help with the relief efforts during the tsunami that struck 11 countries in the Indian Ocean in 2005 and hurricane Katrina that battered Louisiana in 2005. And, let’s not forget about all of our outstanding conferences that we have throughout the year. Mark 16 says to “go into the entire world and minister the good news”; we make sure that our world is reached both here and abroad. No more excuses, you fit in here end of story! Church on the Ledge!

I know that some of you are asking, “What about my family?” Well, I am glad you asked! We live in a world full of real issues that are really in your face. To be quite blunt, the “socially acceptable” system can really make a mess of your life; believe me, I had a first year of marriage, and it was rough. Church on the Ledge has programs to help you in your marriage. We also have teaching for parenting, or if your single we can teach you about that as well. We have classes like “Freedom from Addictions” for those really difficult things to quit doing, but keep in mind that following Christ isn’t about what you can’t do, it’s about what you can do! We will also teach you about managing finances, investments, your health, and much more. Some people say “whoa, is that in the bible?” Yeah, it’s in their, there is a bunch of practical stuff in the bible to help you with your family and your life….and we aren’t afraid to teach it either.
